Ramblers' offensive capabilities overwhelm Marquette

The weekend of February 5th turned out into an interesting one for the Loyola Ramblers' Hockey Club. The Friday showdown between Loyola University and Marquette University felt like an even sway of offensive opportunities but came out in the Ramblers favor 6-2. The first period start was just like any other first period Rambler performance; poor. Junior goaltender Adam Sabh made three point blank stops to keep Marquette scoreless by the end of the period, which let the Ramblers' offense pop a pair of goals into their opponent's net. The start of the second looked like a full swing in the Ramblers' favor with a bombardment of shots on Marquette's goaltender who let 2 slip before the periods end. Although the Ramblers looked to have a firm grip on the games momentum Marquette managed to squeak 2 goals past Sabh ending the period at a score of 4-2. The third period was simply the finishing blow to Marquette's first appearance in the Chicago-land area this season. Swarms of offensive momentum overwhelmed Marquette's defensive efforts and the Ramblers fired 2 top-shelf goals to finish off the contest.
Next weekend the Ramblers take on Northern Michigan in two exhibition matches before heading into the playoffs in Peoria the following weekend.
